Where To Stay In Scottsdale, Arizona: Best Luxury Hotels & Resorts
Luxury Resorts, Boutique Hotels, and Golf Getaways in Scottsdale
From golfers and hikers to spa seekers and foodies, Scottsdale is one of those destinations that attracts every type of traveler. The city is popular for family vacations, girls’ trips, golf getaways, and romantic weekends in the desert.
I often recommend Scottsdale, and nearby Sedona, to clients who want a vacation that feel luxurious and exciting without the cost or effort of an international flight. It’s a fabulous domestic destination with beautiful weather and outdoor activities year-round.
As the locals love to remind you, “it’s a dry heat,” so even during the peak of summer, you can comfortably spend the day by the pool, on the golf course, or hiking desert trails without the humidity that makes other destinations feel sticky.
I’ve been to Arizona multiple times, and like that I can tailor my trip to how I’m feeling at the time. One trip can be focused on spa days and spending time in nature, while another can revolve around golfing and restaurant hopping.
Staying near Old Town Scottsdale means you’re within walking distance of great restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, nightlife, and art galleries, while still being centrally located for hiking trails, golf courses, and day trips.
To help narrow down your options, I put together this Scottsdale hotel guide based on different travel styles and preferences.
Scottsdale Hotel Guide
From boutique hotels to luxury resorts and spas, Scottsdale has no shortage of unique places to stay. Through my personal experience and trusted travel partnerships in Arizona, I’ve curated a list of some of the best hotels in Scottsdale that will provide you with five-star service, exceptional amenities, and beautiful accommodations. Whether you need easy access to Scottsdale’s 200+ golf courses or want family programming, there’s a property that fits your travel style.
Arizona Biltmore
Ideal For: Couples who love historic luxury and elevated service.
This property oozes 1930s glamour. For nearly a century, the Arizona Biltmore has been a sought-after luxury resort. Marilyn Monroe once declared the Biltmore pool her favorite swimming pool and Irving Berlin famously wrote White Christmas during his stay.
Blending Frank Lloyd Wright-style architecture with modern amenities and lush room designs, the Biltmore offers an elevated experience. From the outdoor Sprite statues said to bring good luck, to the historic Wright Bar, where the Tequila Sunrise was invented, there’s so much history woven into the property.
Spend the day lounging in the sun at one of the many pools, unwind in an air-conditioned cabana, or enjoy a cocktail by the outdoor fire pits. There is also an adults-only pool available only for guests, while families will appreciate the two waterslides for younger travelers.
For golfers, the Biltmore’s central location provides easy access to several top Scottsdale and Phoenix golf courses.
Fairmont Scottsdale Princess
Ideal For: Multi-generational trips needing activities and amenities for all ages.
The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is one of the best family-friendly resorts in Scottsdale. This property features a sandy beach pool, spectacular dining options, comfortable bedrooms, and two lobby pups to greet you. You can even bring your own dog along for vacation.
This resort has amazing programming for kids and will keep your family entertained all week long. For teens wanting their own space, the Fairmont can guarantee connecting rooms.
The Fairmont has a team of chefs, bakers, sommeliers, and mixologists to give you a complete culinary experience across its five on-site restaurants and bars. Plus, with our partner perks, you always get a $100 hotel credit that you can use towards dining. All ingredients are sourced within 500 miles, and leftovers are donated to their local partner, who distributes them to those in need.
Andaz Scottsdale
Ideal For: Art lovers looking for a stylish, sustainable stay surrounded by nature.
The rooms at Andaz are thoughtfully designed desert bungalows created in collaboration with local artists. This resort also prioritizes eco-conscious amenities. With on-site beehives, an extensive garden of desert plants, a recycling and compost project, bamboo straws, and water fill stations throughout the property, the Andaz strives for sustainability.
Andaz is also a popular wedding destination. Get married with the Sonoran Desert as your backdrop and then have a celebration in one of the beautiful event spaces. With a fitness center, family-friendly pools, an in-house spa, and lawn games, your guests will enjoy their stay.
Sanctuary Camelback Mountain
Ideal For: High-profile guests or anyone wanting an incredibly private, ultra luxurious desert retreat.
Sitting on 53 acres of lush desert landscape, Sanctuary is known for its privacy and elevated service. Sanctuary has hosted everyone from Adele to Beyoncé. Many top golfers and other sports stars choose Sanctuary for their vacations. The individual casitas and extensive amenities make it easy to fully settle into the property and enjoy a peaceful vacation.
Westin Kierland
Ideal For: City explorers wanting luxury at a more moderate price point.
Have fun in the Arizona sun at Westin Kierland. This resort has the longest lazy river in Scottsdale, a waterslide, multiple pools, and it’s the only property with a surf simulator. Located near Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter, it’s easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and bars. There is also a shuttle service available for guests.
Parents can relax in a poolside cabana while kids enjoy the included kids’club. Or spend the afternoon on one of the resort’s three golf courses. One of the most unique experiences at Kierland is the Scotch Library, where a whisky ambassador guides guests through more than 360 labels in a private dining experience.
The Kierland’s fitness studio, spa, and restaurant are all undergoing renovations to further elevate the guest experience. Now would be the perfect time to book in for 2027 vacations at a lower cost. Remember, as your travel advisor, I get access to exclusive discounts and VIP perks that you can’t find anywhere else.
Best Places To Stay In Sedona, Arizona
An easy two-hour drive north of Scottsdale lies the charming town of Sedona. Famous for its dramatic red rocks, scenic hiking trails, luxury spas, and vibrant arts community, Sedona is the perfect add-on to your Arizona trip.
Travelers also visit Sedona for its famous energy vortexes, which are believed to promote healing and spiritual renewal. While you’re there, don’t miss out on one of Sedona’s most iconic tourist experiences, the Pink Jeep Tours. It’s a fun way to explore the rugged desert landscape.
If you’re extending your Arizona getaway, these are two of my favorite luxury hotels in Sedona.
L’Auberge de Sedona
Ideal For: Couples wanting a romantic, secluded escape.
Nestled along the banks of Oak Creek, L’Auberge is one of the most serene resorts I’ve ever visited. The property feels incredibly private and allows guests to fully connect with nature.
The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay special. Book a couples massage in an outdoor cabana or enjoy a romantic dinner at the award-winning Cress on Oak Creek restaurant.
Guests can also enjoy breakfast (included with our Virtuoso benefits) along the creek each morning. Spend the afternoon at the Duck Pond Pool with stunning views of Sedona’s surrounding red rocks.
Enchantment Resort
Ideal For: Outdoor enthusiasts looking to take advantage of Sedona’s hiking & biking trails.
Enchantment offers an immersive stay in the dramatic red rock formations of Sedona. With easy access to the surrounding nature, the on-site hiking guides can help you pick the best trails and outdoor activities for your level. Just 20 minutes outside of town, you can still easily enjoy Sedona’s boutique shops and restaurants.
Enjoy lunch on the patio for sweeping views and amazing cocktails. The casitas are also being renovated, and I got a sneak peek at the updated rooms with desert-inspired designs perfect for upcoming fall trips.
